Haunted: Privacy Policy

Get Haunted on the Chrome Web Store
Haunted collects nothing and sends nothing. It is a browser extension that adds spooky visual effects to web pages. It does not track you, has no accounts, and makes no network requests.
What is stored
The extension saves the following in your browser's local extension storage, on your own computer only:
- Your settings: intensity level, whether spiders and whisper sounds are on, and any sites you chose not to haunt.
- A count of how many hauntings have happened (today and in total).
This data never leaves your browser. It is not shared, sold or transmitted anywhere. Removing the extension deletes it.
What the extension can see
The effects run on the pages you visit, so the extension is allowed to run on all websites. It looks at a page on your own device only to decide where to draw an effect and to stay away from login and payment pages, and it only changes how the page looks for a few seconds at a time. It does not collect, copy, store or transmit page content, form entries, passwords or browsing history. Banking, payment, email and login pages are skipped automatically.
The activeTab permission is used only so the popup can show the current site's name for the "Don't haunt this site" button.
Third parties
There are no analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party services of any kind, and no remote code. Everything the extension does is in the package you install.
